DISS Course Lecture

Dive Deep into Dental Implants on Day One

On the first day, participants will be immersed in an in-depth lecture covering all aspects of dental implants. The session begins with an introduction to the basics and the significance of dental implants in modern dentistry. You will then delve into the anatomy and physiology of oral structures, understanding their relevance to implant placement.

The lecture also covers the latest materials and technological advancements in dental implants, providing insights into how these innovations can enhance your practice. Planning and case selection are crucial aspects of implant procedures, and you'll receive guidelines to ensure optimal outcomes. A step-by-step explanation of surgical techniques will prepare you for the practical application, while post-operative care and management will be addressed to ensure successful implant integration and patient satisfaction.

To reinforce your learning, you will have the opportunity to practice on typodont models, allowing you to refine your skills in a controlled environment.

Hands-On Experience with Live Patients on Day Two

The second day of the course is dedicated to hands-on practice. Participants will place up to three implants on live patients, providing an invaluable opportunity to apply your knowledge in a real-world setting under expert supervision. This practical experience is designed to build your confidence and competence in dental implant surgery.

Additional Course Benefits

Participants will earn 10 Continuing Education (CE) credits, which can be applied towards the 100 CE credits required for fellowship with the International Congress of Oral Implantologists (ICOI) or Associate Fellowship with the American Academy of Implant Dentistry (AAID). Upon successful completion of the course, you will receive a certificate validating your newly acquired skills and knowledge.

To ensure a comfortable learning experience, breakfast and lunch are provided on both days of the course.

Bringing Your Own Patients

An exciting feature of this course is the opportunity to bring your own patients for the live implant placement. This enhances the learning experience by allowing you to work with familiar cases and provide continuity of care. Patients will need to have a CBCT scan prior to the course and undergo a quality control check by DISS faculty.
